In the May issue of Tufts University Health and Nutrition Letter, there is an interesting article titled “5 Things the Nation’s Nutrition Experts Want You to Know Now.” Here are a few take-aways from this piece.
1. Dietary patterns are more important than specific foods.
2. Cholesterol in foods is not the main culprit in unhealthy blood cholesterol — saturated fat is.
3. Drinking coffee is safe and may even be good for you.
4. Cut down added sugars.
5. Eating more plants is better for you and the planet.
