I work with patients of all ages and currently treat patients aged 6 months to 76 years.

Research supports the idea that diets and dieting are often ineffective. In fact, “dieting” can cause its own set of problems, such as intense cravings, food preoccupation, low self-esteem, depression, increased body dissatisfaction, decreased metabolism and nutrient imbalances.
For some, dieting can lead to more serious disorders, such as using food to cope with distressing emotions, compulsive and binge eating, as well anorexia and bulimia.
The alternative to dieting is to learn how to listen and respond to the body’s cues of hunger and satiety. The approach is called “intuitive, or attuned” eating, and is often used in the prevention and treatment of disordered eating and eating disorders. Intuitive eating may also be helpful for those with general health concerns. This includes those who want to gain more control over food choices and weight, even if there are not emotional eating issues or past experiences with unsuccessful dieting.
For those recovering from an eating disorder, I work closely with you and your treatment team to provide continuity of care. Our goals are:
