Below you will find a range of nutrition services to suit different needs, whether you have a medical condition, or you are looking for a consultation on wellness, or performance nutrition.
Wellness nutrition is about guiding your food choices to ensure a well-balanced diet with proper nutrients. It can translate to improved energy levels, stable moods, better metabolism and ultimately, a preventative approach that supports life-long health and activity.
If you want to optimize your athletic performance, your day-to-day eating habits are an important influence. Whether you are a professional or an amateur athlete, I will develop an individualized diet based on your sport, body type and eating habits to help you prepare for optimal training and competition.
Dancers can improve performance with healthful eating. Whether your goal is to build muscle strength, maintain a healthy physique, improve endurance or reduce the risk of injuries, I will customize a nutrition plan designed to meet your specific needs. My ongoing experience both at Boston Children’s Hospital Division of Sports Medicine, and the Boston Ballet School are invaluable assets in creating these plans.
Much is said about weight loss, but the best advice leads to positive and long-lasting changes. I will teach you how to make healthy choices to manage your weight without deprivation. We will work together on a meal plan, activity goals, and your best weight range. Our focus will be on education and strategies to help you overcome your difficulties.
We will build a relaxed and trusting relationship. Your confidentiality and well-being are my priorities. I will work closely with your primary care physician and other members of your care team to provide a coordinated approach. Together we will work on changing your eating habits, as well as supporting you to be comfortable with the changes.
Children and adolescents go through critical periods of growth where dietary intake must match changing needs. Proper weight gain is required not only for linear growth, but also for brain development. I will analyze your child’s growth data and trends to develop the balanced diet needed for your child to grow optimally and maximize their growth potential.
Managing your diet to help control diabetes can be challenging, especially with work, school and social lives. Our nutrition plan will help you effectively construct and maintain a diet that manages your blood sugar levels, and helps limit complications
I will educate you about food allergies and the sources of allergens in your diet. This also involves identifying areas of possible cross-contamination, and ways to manage eating while dining outside the home.
Celiac disease is the result of an intolerance to gluten and may require many modifications of your diet. The first step is education, ensuring that you learn the sources of gluten, understand potential sources of cross-contamination, and know how to shop for gluten-free foods. The goal is to help you manage your diet both in and out of the home. “Gluten Intolerance,” an entity separate from traditional celiac disease, requires a substantially different approach. I can help guide you in how to manage this and other intolerances. Gluten-free diets place individuals at risk for a variety of vitamin, mineral and nutrition deficiencies and vulnerabilities. I will help you manage these challenges.
IBD is characterized by a variety of gastrointestinal symptoms that may be exacerbated by specific foods. Given the complexity of these diagnoses, it may be difficult to identify which foods are causing distress. We will address specific known vulnerabilities inherent to these diagnoses, and develop an individualized food plan to optimize nutritional health and minimize adverse symptoms where possible.
IBS represents a variable but common constellation of symptoms that can profoundly affect one’s quality of life. There is a robust and evolving literature and science that is helping us to understand how food choices can exacerbate, and at times, relieve symptoms. I can help guide you in managing these choices to improve your quality of life.
